One Big Myth about Content Repurposing

Content Creation is so hard. I agree with you. It’s hard to always come up with new ideas for every social media channel. I used to hate creating content. So a lot of times, I would just post something for the sake of posting.

Many online business owners shy away from reusing their content because they're afraid of boring their audience. One of the biggest myths about content repurposing is that it’s simply copy and paste. Well Sis, we are about to debunk this myth.

Content Repurposing = Copy and Paste. MYTH.

Content repurposing is taking one piece of content, like a blog post or YouTube video, and turning it into other formats. It’s a way to create more content without having to start from scratch. An example of this is pulling quotes from your blog and turning them into tweets.

Not everyone consumes content in the same way. Repurposing content gives you different ways to reach your target audience. Your followers won’t get bored. Instead, it will help them trust you as an authority. People do business with those that they like, know and trust.

“Frequency breeds familiarity. Familiarity breeds trust.” - Margarida Kanu (Business Strategist / Speaker at Rebel Boss Summit 2022).

New followers haven’t seen your previous content. Many will be seeing your message for the first time. If they like what you post, then they will stick around to hear more.

Ways to Repurpose Content

Once you figure out what your pillar piece of content is going to be, then you can decide how to repurpose it. Here are 5 ways you can repurpose your content:

  • Use your written blog post as a script for a video or podcast.

  • Create 30 sec teaser videos or audiograms

  • Write a summary of your blog post for an email newsletter

  • Turn your content into a digital product or freebie.

  • Pull quotes from your blog and turn them into a feed post. Add a link to a related resource.

Content repurposing is not copy and paste. One piece of content can feed your social media platforms without you having to come up with new ideas. Repurposing content will help save you time and help you expand your reach without a lot of extra work. You still want to include promos, testimonials, and other content.

Congrats, You made it to the end. Now you know what content repurposing is and different ways to do it.
